weekly reflection

Image
Today Unlike other weeks I was doing more on my own and also being more independent.  This meant doing research that I enjoyed Also I had more time to explore and go out and photograph. I did research on photographers that I looked up too and how they work and how they make there living doing photography. For some, it is not the main source of income and for others it is. It is always a good week when you get to admire and look at great works by this top photographer in my find. Also, it gives me the change to see what I need to improve on and how I can better tell the story that needs to be told.  The world has story and they need skilled and ethically strong people to tell them fairly and honestly. At the rate that we are going we are going to need people to educate and fight for the many endangered species and also the human-wildlife interaction that is going on every day, need to be talked about. It is better to fight then just let them go extinct. I would not like to live in a

day 15

Today I had the chance to go out and photograph wildlife and I also try to get some photos of the sunrise. I was able to get some very nice photos of some barn swallows but the sunrise was not in the right please and that photo just did not work out. Wildlife photography gives you a glimpse into the world of wildlife and also can tell their story and get people to care and want to save wildlife and also show that they are not that different from us.  We live in a world that we want to divide we should try to come together. Also, photos do not have a language they can tell a story all around the world with the meaning being lost.

day 14

Image
I looked at some of the top nature photographers in the world. This is the people that shape and are laying the foundation for the next generation of photographers. They would include Paul Nicklen, and Frans Lanting and many more. I looked at the projects that they are working on and also how they used their social media following to impact or change the world or is it just to show photos. People with the massive following using one or two photos can impact the lives of thousands of people. Take the photo of the dying polar bear or the dead polar bear, they both raised a lot of awareness for their cause. Photo my Zachary Webster

day 13

Today I Looked at adult photo programs that I enjoy or that I know are good and try to take their model and use it as the base for a youth program. The adult programs are almost always better the youth one so it would be great to have some carryover and see some of what makes the adult program great come to the youth programs. One of those aspects is the level of freedom. The programs that I used for inspiration was Nature scapes and Dan Cox photography.  photo my Zachary Webster

Today I worked on formatting my research and making sure that it looked great and that it was early to understand and also to get all the important information at a glance. The way that I did this was to first make a list of the major points, after that I then done into the specifics of each and all of the number and details. I look good and you can glace over it and understand everything. This is important because if you can summarize it can be hard to read 4 pages of information that is not really important to the overall point you are making.  by Zachary

day 11

Image
Today I went out and try to find foxes and warblers to photography. This entailed waking up early about 4am, to get into position about 5:30 for sunrise. Sadly there was no foxes insight and the warblers were too high in the trees to get good photos of them. We think that the foxes got scared and when underground that is why we did not find them. Also, the warblers were high done the lack of wind. Overall it was great to get out and shot instead of working. This is what you can get when you get lucky and find warbler and foxes. So cute!!

Day 10

Image
Today I finished the senior project requirements. Today I put the final touches on the all of the projects for Steve. Even though I am not finished within until the 28 of May. I checked my research and also all of the number that I have and just the overall formatting of it. I also worked on preparing to deliver all of nature and knowledge that I have gathered. This has been a great time and I have learned a lot about how different groups use social media and also how different groups have photo program and how good each of them is. Also, take a careful look at how different places are protecting wildlife.

Day 5

Image
I kept looking into more youth programs and how the fuction. I looked at the logistics of how they work. Also, I looked into how to set up a program if it was going to do so. Also just looking into people social media and how different photographers interact when there fans also who is good with social media and who is not. Also how to make a better social meidea and also how to increase followers for them. This is was very interesting and I learned a lot about how to maximize social media, not jsut for them but also for them selves. photo by Zach It is always great to have fantastic subjects to photograph and they can give you fantastic opportunities. photo have the power to change the world!

Weekly reflection two

Image
The that we live in is constantly moving and forcing us to adjust. The world we live in is very influenced by social media and the view of the people around us. So being able to understand that and using it to your advantage is huge. Also knowing how to use social media to get your message or attract new clients is huge and can either make or break a small company. I had a great time looking into the social media profiles of several influential photographers and also some that do not really use social media to promote themselves. I learned a lot about the power of social media and also how to better use it for not just by self but also Natures Best and how they can improve and be more influential. This will be very beneficial to them and can help them plan out and execute social media presence. This helps me attentive my goals because it not only learn from other photographers but also helps me learn about what  I could be doing better. I can take the skills and the knowledge that I h

Day 9

Image
Today looking to making the idea photo program and how I would do that and also the biggest warning and problems that need to be avoided at all costs. I started with the idea of taking the best of all the youth programs and putting them together, but that was never going to work. So I took the good of youth programs and then combined it with some of the great ideas and approaches of an adult program. This included who was the instructors, how much space and also location and overall feel of the experience. I came up with the idea of having 3 levels system with (beginner, advanced beginner, and full time or highly skilled). Each of this programs would have 2 locations one in the states and one outside the states.  There is one way to create one program that fits everyone or even fits the majority of people there are too many skill levels and there are too many variables. The best way to do it is having several programs and then you can give the best experience to each customer.

Day 8

Image
Today I took a dive into the conversation efforts that are going on around the world. This was for both the photo contest that is going on right now and also just overall conservation complements that are going on around the world. It was great to see that even though so many animals are doing very poorly that some are coming back from the edge of extinction. Also, it was interesting to see how some areas are starting to use drones to patrol and to count wildlife. Also how some anti-poaching team is doing vs others. Also, It was very interesting to see how some areas sound is protected but are not and the reasons why. On top of that I also was looking to the background on conservation stories that pertain the photo contest and if what the contestant is saying is true or not and if that they are portraying is correct. How cheetahs and the brown hyenas are protected and how they survive in this ever-changing world of people and poaching and loss of habitat. It is great to see ho

Day 7

Image
Today I took a deep look into the social media of many different programs and also photo photographers that lead several programs. I was looking for how they reach out to the clients and also the fans. This was very interesting and also telling some programs have a much better social media department than others. Also, some programs do not even have a department. This information will be used by Nature Best to best use social media as a platform for both for conservation but also spreading there brand. Once I completed that  I continued looking into more and more youth programs. Thre are several that are quite good but there are many others that are not and that have poor locations and poor quality instructors. The photo was taken by Zach at NANPA that is one of the things that can be done with good light and the smokey mountains.

Day 6

Image
I got a grreat call from steve about the relaunch that I have done and also what he wanted me to do next. He really likes all of the detail and how organized the research was. Also the way I went about retouching, by not taking it at face value and digging deeper. I start on my next research topic. This was two-fold one was to keep looking for more youth photo programs and the second was to research conversation efforts in different areas. Also when it came to the youth programs also how they used social media and how they connected with their target group.  this is the project for the next couple of days.  This can happen on a good photo program.   photo by Zach, Taken in British Columbia

more photos from NANPA

Photos that I took at NANPA as a youth photographer. Nanpa is one of the better programs that I have found that they give you the case to shoot some very interesting wildlife. This is just too salamanders that I found and photographed. It was a great exercise to do some macro photography.

Weekly Refection 1

Refection One Refection  The way that these internship works is the fact that I get assessments either weekly or as often as I have them. The first one was to research youth programs. The way that this was done was to first find the six best from both experience and suggestions. I used my personal experience and friends experience to pick my six I also it was also from the suggestions that they gave me.   From there I then took a deep dive into each program of classes. This was interesting because I looked at them fairly and not put my personal opinion it right way. After a look at all parts of the programs. This included the instructors, locations, and the skill level for each. After that, I turn my attention to testimonials and any personal data that I had. This was very interesting. Once I had completed my research I made a pros and cons list. It was different to see each of the programs broken down into process and cons I had never done that before and it was very interring.

photos taken at NANPA: day 4

Image
Any time that you have one of these groups or programs it really matters who is in it. If it is a bad group then there is no chance for good photos or a positive learning experience. This is one of the problems with these kinds of groups you have no idea how good they are going to be until you get there.  And once you get there it can be hard to leave. So do your homework before choosing a photo program to do.

Day 3

I started the day off with emails about what I had learned and all the research and how I did the research to Natures Best. Then I got on the phone with Steve and the team to talk about my finding and any last ideas or suggestions. The call went great and it was a success. It was great to hear about how happy they were and the fact that they really liked my work. This was an interesting project because of the long-term effect that it could have. It is nice to know that I helped shape the next generation of photographers.

Day 2

Research Two I continued with what I was doing with day 1. I found more programs and look at them. And was trying to find quality programs that they can model there off of. And after I had found some more, I ranked them from best to worse and wrote a summary of each and my overall thoughts. For me, the best was a mix of several of them with National Geographic being one of the best ones. The was the overall idea to improve youth photography and also awareness of the world and nature around us. This gives me the chance to shape the next wave of youth photographers. Also, I have the chance the help and give more photographic chances to youth so they can become better photographers.   The world has many stories to tell, it will take quality and talented photographers to tell it correctly and fairly. I have the chance to help make the next generation of photographers better.

Day 1

Research One: I got my assignment from Steve to start by doing research. This will keep changing but for the next two days, this is all that I am doing.   I started with research on youth programs around the country and also the world. Also if there were any directly any good photography programs for youth and how good they were. Photographing is great and having the ability to help to educate the youth is great. Being able to help the next generation of photographers is great too.   Once I had found a good program, I had to find out specific details about them and then make a pros and cons list for each. Also what my personal opinion was and how they could be improved.  Also how Natures best could take some of the ideas and use them to make the " ideal" program. This is all because Natures Best wants to create the "idea" youth photo program.  Photography has the power to change the world and open people eye to events that are happening around
